Zac Tipton enters his first year as Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications, starting his role on January 13, 2025. He is responsible for media relations for Women’s Basketball, Women’s Golf, Softball, and Volleyball.
Tipton, a Spearfish High School graduate, returns home after spending the last year and a half in Phoenix, where he wrote for VBAdrenaline, a volleyball website that covers D1 Recruiting nationwide, and BurnCitySports, a multi-sports blog that covers all Arizona Sports. Tipton was the Arizona State beat, where he attended press conferences and interviewed ASU Football Head Coach Kenny Dillingham, ASU Basketball Head Coach Bobby Hurley, and players such as ASU Running Back Cam Skattebo, Current Notre Dame Cornerback Jordan Clark, and Current TCU Guard Frankie Collins.
Prior to Arizona, Zac spent four years getting his Communication’s degree from Villanova University in Philadelphia, PA, where he covered all sports for the Villanovan, the campus newspaper. He also did radio broadcasting for the Women’s basketball team in 2023. During which, the Villanova women’s team made their second furthest tournament run in program history to the Sweet 16.
While at Villanova, Tipton interned for Fox Sports. He spent his days behind the scenes of some of Fox Sports top morning shows, including First Things First, Undisputed, and The Herd.
