Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team defeated future Rock Mountain Athletic Conference opponent Chadron State 68-55 to improve to 2-2 on the season at the Donald E. Young Center in Spearfish Tuesday evening.
"I thought we played a lot better tonight," said head coach Mark Nore. "Our offense flowed and we played with more maturity and poise. I'm proud of our team's effort."
The Yellow Jackets struggled shooting the ball making only 38% of their shots from the field, 25% from behind the arc and 72% from the charity stripe, but were able to come away with the victory. Black Hills State was led by sophomore Jordan Kent who finished the contest with 18 points, five rebounds and a block. Senior Kristi Ryan and freshman Dakota Barrie each added 11 points in the Yellow Jacket victory.
Black Hills State will return to action Friday, November 25 as they square off against Morningside in the S.D. Mines and Technology Classic, tip-off is slated for 2 p.m. MT and can be heard on 980 AM KDSJ and worldwide at kdsj980.com.
