Box Score Spearfish, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team defeated Dakota State 71-62 to advance to the semifinal round of the Dakota Athletic Conference tournament on Wednesday night in Spearfish.
"I thought Dakota State played hard," said assistant coach Jordan Bauer. "It is tough to beat a team three times in one season, but we started both halves very strong defensively and were able to come away with a win."
Black Hills State took a 34-29 point lead into halftime and was able to outscore the Trojans 37-33 in the second half to come away with the 71-62 victory. The Yellow Jackets shot 41% from the field and 29% from behind the arc.
The Yellow Jackets had four players score double-digit points including senior Katelynn Lamb who finished the contest with 19 points and eight rebounds. Juniors Kristi Ryan, Keely Krolikowski and Bayley Chevron finished the game with 15 points, 11 points and 12 points, respectively.
Black Hills State is now 22-6 on the season and will return to action Sunday, February 27 to host Jamestown in the semifinal round of the Dakota Athletic Conference. Game time is set for 2 p.m. MT. Tickets are on sale in advance at the Young Center or the day of the game at the doors.
