Dickinson, N.D. – The Black Hills State women's basketball team had three players score double-digits in its first exhibition win of the season over Dickinson State, 82-60, on Saturday night.
The Yellow Jackets led by just four points at halftime, 29-25, but ran away with the game in the second half. Chelsey Biegler had a game-high 35 points on 11-of-19 from the field and 2-of-7 from behind the arc. Bailey Kusser added 16 points and Dakota Barrie added 15.
"We really came together as a team tonight," said head coach Mark Nore. "We put a really nice second half together, handled a lot of adversity and I couldn't be more proud of my team."
Cassidy Kotelman led the Yellow Jackets with nine boards and dished out a team-high four assists. Biegler also added eight rebounds and Calli Bechtel recorded seven rebounds.
The Blue Hawks were led by Janae Moore and Mariah Duran who had 16 and 15 points, respectively.
The Yellow Jackets shot 49 percent from the field and were 29-of-38 (76.3 percent) from the free throw line.
The Yellow Jackets will play their first regular season contest of the year at home against Montana State University Billings on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.
