This week we spotlight senior Team Roper Jesse Oliver. Oliver is a Business Administration major specializing in Entrepreneurial Studies. He comes to Black Hills State from Lemmon, SD.
1. Why did you start doing rodeo?
I grew up around it. My dad did rodeo his whole life and it's a family tradition.
2. What made you decide to come to Black Hills State?
It's close to home. Also when I was a junior and senior in high school the Black Hills State rodeo team was really good and that made me want come here even more.
3. Favorite sports memory at Black Hills State?
Freshman year I won the SDSU college rodeo in Brookings. It was really cool to win as a freshman.
4. Favorite place on campus?
The Young Center
5. Favorite thing to do in the Black Hills?
Rodeo and going exploring in the hills.
6. Any hidden talents?
I like singing and country dancing.
7. Hobbies outside of rodeo?
Hunting and fishing
8. Favorite food?
Steak
9. Favorite Netflix binge show?
The Walking Dead
10. Dream job?
To own my own ranch with 10,000 acres and 600 head of cattle.
11. Last good movie you watched?
Lonesome Dove
12. Favorite holiday?
The 4th of July. It is known as Cowboy Christmas because there is always a lot of rodeos around that time.
13. If they made your life into a movie what celebrity would you want to play your part?
John Wayne

Creamy
15. What is your favorite pump up music before a rodeo?

16. Do you have a nickname?
My friends from back home call me Snack Bear.
17. Favorite animal?
Dog
18. Who knows you best?
My girlfriend
19. Favorite family traditions?
On Christmas Eve we go to my grandparents' house and eat frozen pizza and open presents from that side of the family.
20. Celebrity crush?
Jennifer Aniston
21. What three things would you bring with you on a deserted island?
Food, water, and a gun.
22. How would your teammates describe you?
Funny, motivated, and hard-working.
23. If you had a time machine would you go back in time or would you want to see the future?
I would go back in time so I could leave the future a mystery.
