DENVER, COLO.—The snowflakes mixed with winds didn't prevent the Black Hills State University women's basketball team from making the trek to Regis University in one piece on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets are looking to begin their RMAC season 3-0 after defeating Chadron State College 63-46 Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets built their winning-streak to four with a 76-65 victory over Regis on Saturday evening.
BHSU improves to 6-1, 3-0 RMAC while the Rangers fall to 3-6, 1-2 RMAC.

Rachel Erickson picked up where she left off from Friday night with back-to-back three-pointers to propel the Yellow Jackets to an 8-2 lead at the 7:52 mark of the first half.
Erickson, Christine Thorn and Julia Seamans each knocked down three-pointers to pace a 19-4 BHSU run that gave them a 27-6 lead with 1:43 left in the first quarter. This forced the Rangers to call a timeout.
The breather didn't do any wonders for the Rangers as the Yellow Jackets continued to maintain their lead throughout the second quarter. BHSU outscored the Rangers 18-7 and took a 45-17 lead into halftime.
The Rangers played with a jump in their step to begin the second half. The Yellow Jackets saw their lead dwindle slowly as time progressed.
A three-pointer from Jessica Ramos, and four points from Karlyn Johnson helped the Rangers close the BHSU lead to 49-25 with 5:32 left in the third quarter.
A Careese Williams triple, followed by another Ramos three-pointer helped the Rangers come back and narrow the BHSU lead to 17 points at 56-39 after three quarters.
Ramos' eight points in the fourth quarter was the anchor of Regis getting within seven points of BHSU with 1:10 left in the fourth quarter. Erickson and Thorn each converted on both their free throws within the final minute to ice a 76-65 victory for the Yellow Jackets.
Christine Thorn led the Yellow Jackets with 17 points in the contest.
BHSU will return to the Young Center on Friday, December 18 against New Mexico Highlands. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
