GREELEY, Colo. – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team opened its season with an exhibition game Sunday afternoon at Northern Colorado. The NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference opponent defeated the Yellow Jackets for its third straight match up in the last seven years 79-73.
Junior
Rachel Erickson led the way with 16 points in 36 minutes of action. Erickson was 1-of-1 from long range. Senior
Kassidy Scott scored 14 points for the Yellow Jackets right behind Erickson. Scott and Erickson were the only two players in double digit scoring.
Taylor Trohkimoinen grabbed nine of the 32 rebounds for Black Hills State while Scott had six.

Both Erickson's points and Trohkimoinen's rebounds were game highs for the Green and Gold against Northern Colorado.
The Bears placed three in double-digit scoring along with top returner Savannah Scott.

The Yellow Jackets open their regular season on Tuesday, November 15 at Northern State. Tipoff from Aberdeen is slated for 6 p.m.
