KINGSVILLE, TEX.—The Black Hills State University softball team was able to string three runs together in their outing against Texas A&M-International. The Yellow Jackets' final game at the Emerald Beach Hotel Softball Invitational displayed a flash of potential, but it wasn't enough in a 9-3 loss to the Dustdevils Sunday morning.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 0-5, 0-0 RMAC.

The Dustdevils jumped to a 6-0 lead before the Yellow Jackets strung a couple runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jo-Jo Curry led-off the inning with a single before she stole second base. Morgan Smith drove Curry in with a triple to narrow the margin to 6-1.
Smith later touched home plate on a passed ball to make the score 6-2.
The Dustdevils added three six-inning runs to widen their lead to 9-2. Smith notched her second RBI of the contest when she drove in Claire Fergusson on a single to make the score 9-3.
Smith paced the BHSU offense with two hits and two RBI.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Saturday, February 20 against Colorado Mines at 12:00 p.m., and Western New Mexico at 2:00 p.m. Both games will be played in Silver City, N.M.
