Box Score RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills State University women's soccer team came back from a 2-0 deficit Sunday afternoon but couldn't find the go-ahead goal as Colorado State Pueblo prevailed 3-2 in a home game played in Rapid City.
The Thunderwolves put to goals on the scoreboard with the help of a wind-aided first half. The second half told a different story as Abbey Person pushed a ball ahead to Katie Nielson for her fifth goal of the season. Nielson took the pass and made the move to beat the goalkeeper in the corner of the net in the 52nd minute of action.
In the 54th minute, Rose Miller hit the equalizer when she launched her shot from 25-yards out and hit the back of the net. The goal was the first of her career.
However, the Thunderwolves answered back in the 57th minute as Sandra Grimaldo found Laikyn Koss for the go-ahead and game-winning goal.
The Yellow Jackets put 75 percent of their shots on frame in Sunday's game, a season-best.
Black Hills State again split the halves between Therese Wilhelmi and Raven Johnson. Wilhelmi tallied nine saves against the wind-aided CSUP attack while Johnson stopped two shots.
Miller totaled two shots while Nielson and Ryan each tallied a shot apiece.
Black Hills State takes a short break in its schedule before playing its first-ever road conference game by travelling to Fort Lewis on October 7 and Adams State on October 9.
