WBB: Vogel Resigns Assistant Coach Role

| By:

SPEARFISH, S.D. - Black Hills State University assistant women's basketball coach Nate Vogel has resigned his position to accept the head coach position of the Miles City Community College Lady Pioneers women's basketball team.

Vogel, a graduate of BHSU, spent one year with the Yellow Jackets helping Cheyanne Balster and Rachel Erickson to Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Honorable Mention honors. The 2016-17 season saw the Green and Gold lead the RMAC in steals per game at 9.3 along with topping the league in turnovers forced at 18.3 per game. Black Hills State ranked second in the conference with a 1.81 turnover margin.

Vogel played for the Yellow Jacket men's basketball team from 1998-2002, participating in two NAIA National Tournaments. He began his coaching career locally with Spearfish High School where he assisted in two conference championships and was the head freshman coach.

A search for a replacement is underway.
