SPEARFISH, S.D. – Black Hills State University head track and field coach,
Seth Mischke, has announced the signing of Braeden Ferguson to join the Yellow Jackets in the 2019-20 season.
Ferguson is a hurdler from Spearfish, S.D. His junior year he placed fourth in Division AA in the 300-meter hurdles, as well as taking ninth in the 110-meter hurdles. He was also a part of the Spearfish High School 4x400-meter relay team which placed fourth. In addition to his track and field participation, Ferguson is a three-time letter winner in football, and played on the soccer team his senior, placing third in state, while earning all-conference honors.

"The BHSU track and field program is excited to add Braeden to our squad," said coach Mischke. "He has been a solid performer for Spearfish High School at state meets, and we are looking forward to him focusing on one sport at this level and really see how far he can take his events."

Ferguson is the son of Tracy and Dan Leikvold. He plans on majoring in occupational therapy at BHSU.
