SPEARFISH, S.D. – Morgan Ham dropped 29 points, as the Black Hills State University women's basketball team fell, 73-61, to Colorado Christian on Friday night.

Ham led the Yellow Jackets (9-3, 5-3 RMAC) with 29 points, while
Keely Bertram brought down nine boards to lead the Green and Gold.

The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair, until Colorado Christian broke away with an 8-2 run to lead the Yellow Jackets. The Cougars kept the momentum to lead, 36-23, at the break.Â

The Green and Gold opened the second half, stringing together a 10-0 run to bring the game within three, led by a three-point play by
Katie Messler. A lay-up for
Alyssia Martinez, followed by a free throw, tied the game, 38-38.Â
Julia Seamans knocked in her first shot outside the paint for the Yellow Jackets to take the lead. Colorado Christian took back the lead in the fourth quarter, and eventually the game.Â

Jordan Baer led the Cougars with 23 points and nine rebounds. Following Baer, Sarah McGinley score 17 points for the Cougars.Â

Colorado Christian shot 48.2 percent (27-for-56) from the floor, while BHSU shot 33.8 percent (23-for-68) from the field. The Cougars were 7-for-12 (58.3 percent) beyond the arc, while the Yellow Jackets were 5-for-25 (20.0 percent). The Green and Gold outrebounded CCU, 42-40.Â

The Yellow Jackets will be back at the Donald E. Young Center, on January 12, to take on Regis. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
