WBB: Yellow Jackets Return Home to Host Wayne State

Spearfish, SD – The Black Hills State University women's basketball team returns home to host the Wayne State Wildcats. Action tips off at 4:00pm, Saturday, in the Donald Young Center.

The Yellow Jackets are 3-1 on the season and are coming off a tough road loss to NSIC opponent Northern State. While most of the RMAC is in non-conference play, BHSU leads the conference in points allowed, holding their opponents to less than 50 points per game on average.

That defense is correlating to some strong shot blocking. The Yellow Jackets are third in the league for stopping field goals, holding their opponents to a 35% shooting average, and fair even higher stopping the three. Teams have made just a total of 14 3-pointers against Black Hills.

The yellow Jackets are also leading the RMAC in steals, averaging 13 a game.

Wayne State is also 3-1 on the year and are fresh off a victory over SD School of Mines. The Yellow Jackets will have to contain Erin Norling who scored a career high 32 points against the Hardrockers.

Next Tuesday, the 26th, the Green and Gold open up RMAC play in doubleheader action as the men's and women's team host South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
