SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University football team has announced its 2019 slate of games. The fall schedule includes two home games under the lights, as well as a nonconference game to wrap up the season at home.
The Yellow Jackets open at Lyle Hare Stadium, welcoming Chadron State College on September 7. The opening game of the 2019 season kicks off at 6 p.m., and will be Family Day for the Green and Gold.
After traveling to Colorado School of Mines, BHSU returns home for two games. The Yellow Jackets welcome Adams State at 1 p.m. on September 21. Fort Lewis then comes to Spearfish on September 28 for Swarm Days at 1 p.m.
On October 5, the Yellow Jackets travel to Dixie State for the final meeting before the Trailblazers join Division I.
The 134th Black Hills Brawl will be October 12. BHSU hosts South Dakota School of Mines at 6 p.m., looking to retake the Homestake Trophy.
The Green and Gold then go on the road in back-to-back weeks, traveling to New Mexico Highlands on October 19, and Colorado Mesa on October 26.
On November 2, Western comes to South Dakota for a 1 p.m. start, before the Yellow Jackets travel to CSU-Pueblo on November 9.
The 2019 season will wrap up on November 16, with BHSU hosting non-conference foe, Azusa Pacific University. The game, which will also be Senior Day, is scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m.
"We're excited to have six home games this year, especially having the chance to play a nonconference Division II opponent," said head coach John Reiners.
The Yellow Jackets had five players named All-RMAC Honorable Mention following a 3-8 2018 season. Jacob Parks and Kielar Harpham will be back next season after earning the accolade.
