COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced the Indoor Track and Field All-RMAC teams Thursday morning.
Jordyn Huneke and
Kyla Sawvell earned First Team honors, while eight other Yellow Jackets were named to the Second Team.
Huneke was named to the All-RMAC First Team in the pole vault after taking second place at the RMAC Indoor Championships. The sophomore has also earned a spot at the National Championships. Sawvell earned First Team in the shot put after the freshman took third in the event.
Earning Second Team was
Shayna Soderstrom, who was sixth in the 200 meters.
Alexandra Richards was Second Team in the high jump after placing fifth at the RMAC Championships.
Whitney Scott, who took fifth in the pole vault also earned the accolade, while Savwell added a Second Team honor as she took sixth in the weight throw.
For the Yellow Jacket men,
Jordan Theisen was named Second Team in the mile after placing fourth.
Drazen Moratzka, who took fifth in the high jump, and
Allan McDonnell, who was sixth in the triple jump, were each named All-RMAC Second Team.
Ryan Olsen was also named Second Team after breaking his school record in the heptathlon to place fourth.
The Yellow Jacket men finished the Indoor Championships in ninth place, while the women finished seventh.
Jordyn Huneke and the men's DMR qualified for the DII National Championships which will take place March 8-9.
