SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Black Hills State University football program has announced the dates for the Yellow Jacket spring football practices. The schedule began on February 28. The spring schedule concludes with the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 13. The 10th Annual Gridiron Gathering will also be held on April 13 in conjunction with the Spring Game.

The Yellow Jackets will go through 14 practices before the Spring Game, which is slated for 10 a.m. on April 13. All practices are scheduled to take place in Lyle Hare Stadium, and, unless otherwise noted, are open to the public.

The entire schedule is as follows:

Practice 1: Feb. 28 – 5:45 am
Practice 2: March 1 – 5:45 am
Practice 3: March 12 – 5:30 am
Practice 4: March 14 – 5:00 pm
Practice 5: March 16 – 9:00 am (Scrimmage)
Practice 6: March 19 – 5:30 am
Practice 7: March 21 – 5:30 am
Practice 8: March 26 – 5:30 am
Practice 9: March 28 – 5:00 pm
Practice 10: March 30 – 9:00 am (Scrimmage)
Practice 11: April 2 – 5:30 am
Practice 12: April 4 – 5:00 pm
Practice 13: April 9 – 5:30 am
Practice 14: April 11 – 5:00 pm
Practice 15: April 13 – Spring Game 10:00 am

The 10th Annual Gridiron Gathering will be held in conjunction with the Spring Game on April 13. The weekend will kick off with the Spring Game and subsequent BBQ, all in Lyle Hare Stadium. The day concludes with a social and dinner at The Lodge at Deadwood.

The social and dinner consists of a Calcutta auction with various Yellow Jacket items, along with the Gridiron Races.

The event cost is $60 per person, or $110 for a couple. The price includes a Yellow Jacket football stocking cap, the BBQ after the Spring Game, a social hour with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and tap beer, dinner buffet, and a great time gathering with Yellow Jacket football supporters. You will also get access to an optional slot tournament at an additional fee of $10 per person, which will have a cash payout of $500 split between first, second, and third places.

Hotel accommodations start at $119 per room at The Lodge at Deadwood. Make sure to reference Gridiron Gathering when making reservations, as a block of rooms has been reserved with a deadline to book by April 1.
