SPEARFISH, S.D. –  Three members of the Black Hills State University track and field teams will compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships this weekend. Jordyn Huneke and Whitney Scott will compete in the pole vault on Saturday. Jonah Theisen is set to run in the 3000-meter steeplechase and the 5000 meters. The meet, hosted by Texas A&M-Kingsville, will be held May 23-25 in Kingsville, Texas.
 
The first Yellow Jacket in action will be Jonah Theisen. The senior from Kenai, Alaska, will run in the steeplechase qualifier on Thursday. The race is set to begin at 6:55 p.m. (mountain time) May 23. Twelve men will move on to compete in the final at 6:30 p.m. (mountain time) on Friday, May 24.
 
Theisen will wrap up his outstanding four-year career on May 25, running in the 5k. The gun is set to go off at 7:30 p.m. (mountain time) on Saturday.
 
Sophomores Huneke, from Rapid City, S.D., and Scott, a native of Watertown, S.D., will be in action May 25. The pole vault competition will begin at 1:30 p.m. (mountain time) on Saturday.
