Spearfish, SD –  The Black Hills State University women's basketball team handily defeated the UCCS Mountain Lions Friday night 79-62 to make it three in a row. The Yellow Jackets move to 10-5 on the season and 7-3 in the RMAC.

"We had another great team win," said head coach
Mark Nore. "We had good flow and pace offensively. We need to do a much better job on the glass tomorrow night."

A big night from downtown and an early seven point lead was to much for the Mountain Lions to respond to. The Yellow Jackets put up a dominating 23 points in the first quarter and lead 42-26 at half. In no quarter did UCCS outshoot BHSU.

The team was hot from all angles. They hit 47 percent of their shots making 26 total baskets. Most impressively, they hit 14 three pointers connecting fifty percent of the time. In the third quarter, the Yellow Jackets sank 80 percent of their shots beyond the arc. The team was also near perfect from the charity stripe, making 13-14 shots.

Once again
Morgan Ham and
Racquel Wientjes lead the scoring. Ham posted 19 points, shooting 6-11 from the field and six for six in free throws. Wientjes hit four of eight three pointers and was also perfect in her free throws posting 18 total points.
Danica Kocer had an impressive night off the bench scoring 10 points and draining two big three pointers.

The Green and Gold are back Saturday night hosting Colorado School of Mines. Tip off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
