Spearfish, SD - Coming off a tough loss versus Colorado State University Pueblo, The Black Hills State women's basketball team is looking for a sweep this weekend. On Friday evening, they will take on the Chadron State Eagles in Chadron, NE at 5:30 pm. Saturday, they will be playing Metropolitan State University of Denver in Denver, CO at 4 pm. Currently, the Yellow Jackets are sitting seventh in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings. They are 8-5 in conference play and 11-7 overall.

The Jackets sit second in the conference for steals per game, averaging 8.9 per game. The team is led by Junior
Racquel Wientjes, who averages 16.4 points per conference game and Junior
Morgan Ham with 14.5 PPG. Wientjes and
Katie Messler lead the team in rebounding, with 5.3 and 5 rebounds per game respectively. Wientjes also sits third in the conference for her free-throw percentage with a solid 87% from the line.

The Eagles are 3-10 in RMAC play and 5-17 overall. They are led by Junior Taryn Foxen who averages 14.2 PPG and Senior Melisa Kadic, averaging 10.6 PG. Sophomore Jori Peters leads the team in assists and sits fifth in the conference, with 4.1 APG. Since 2012, the Green and Gold lead the series 15-1. Â Last season, the Yellow Jackets won both match-ups versus the Eagles.

The Roadrunners are 7-6 in conference play, 8-11 overall, currently placing them as the 8
th seed in the RMAC. They are led by Senior Bree Wellington, who averages 12.2 PPG and 5.2 RPG and Sophomore Morgan Lewis, with 9.3 PPG and 6.2 RPG. The Roadrunners sit second in the conference for blocks, averaging 3.8 blocks per game. They also sit fifth in the conference for free-throw percentage, at 72%. The Roadrunners lead the series 5 – 10 and won both matchups against the Yellow Jackets last season.
