Black Hills State football has decided to cancel its two remaining scheduled games this season due to continued COVID-19 concerns and the increase of cases in the surrounding area.
The Yellow Jackets were set to play their final two games Nov. 14 against Chadron State, and Nov. 21 against South Dakota Mines. Those games are now canceled.
"We are grateful for the opportunity to play football this fall and disappointed that the last few weeks have kept us from being able to compete through the remainder of the fall season," said Athletic Director
Jhett Albers. "We are supportive of the decision and agree that it is in the best interest of the three institutions at this time as it relates to the health and wellness of our student-athletes."
BHSU Football (0-2) was able to play South Dakota Mines and Colorado Mesa this season after putting together an abbreviated fall schedule.
