Minot, ND – The Black Hills State University Softball teams split the weekend at the Minot State Dome Invite. On Friday, they got a walk off win over Minot state winning 5-4 in extra innings. On Sunday, they fell to Bemidji State 1-4 and to the Crookston Eagles 5-10. The Yellow Jackets are now 1-6 on the season and will open conference play in two weeks.
Minot State Quick Look:
Taryn Moan,
Gianna Haley,
Maddie London,
Crystal Amaral, and
Emily Marsden all scored for the Yellow Jackets. Haley lead the team with three hits and an RBI. Amaral pitched all eight innings and recorded 11 strike outs.
Bemidji State Quick Look:
Dominique DiManna was the lone scorer for the Yellow Jackets. She also recorded two hits leading the team.
Baileigh Hubbard recorded one RBI.
Halie Litwin pitched all six innings recording three strike outs.
UM – Crookston Quick Look:
Samantha Schoen had a big game, recording two hits both doubles and getting 3 RBI's. Moan, Haley, and
Kindall Bethke also each recorded two hits. Bethke and Dimanna each recorded a RBI. Amaral, Marsden, and
Darian Gottfried all shared the pitching load. Amaral recorded another four strike outs in the four innings she pitched.
The Green and Gold have this coming weekend off to prepare for their RMAC opener and home opener. Depending on the weather and snow pack, BHSU will host Fort Lewis for a pair of double headers on the 22
nd and 23
rd.
