Spearfish, SD – The Black Hills State University track and field team's picked up two wins in the first four events of the 2020 Stinger Open.

The nights true excitement was in the women's Distance Medley Relay. The Yellow Jackets didn't get the win the Distance Medley Relay, but they took second in a time of 12:23.45. The squad of
Ruby Lindquist,
Taylor Lundquist,
Abbie Fredrick, and
Zoe Langseth is now the 8
th fastest in school history. Altitude and Track conversions aren't official but it looks like the Yellow Jackets will just miss the NCAA Provo Time.
The winners of the Women's DMR, the University of Mary, coached by BHSU Alumni Dennis Newell, ran 11:41.43. After conversions, that mark will be the fastest in Division 2 this year, and likely an NCAA Auto qualifying time.
The rest of the Yellow Jacket Squad will be in action tomorrow for the full day of 2020 Stinger Open. Field events begin at 12:30 while running events begin at 2:00pm.
