The Black Hills State University Women's Basketball team is set to host Regis University and Colorado School of Mines this weekend in their second set of home games for the 2020-21 season.
The Yellow Jackets will take on Regis University Sunday afternoon starting at 4:00 P.M. and Colorado School of Mines Monday evening at 5:30 P.M.
The Yellow Jackets are riding a four-game winning streak into the pair of games after defeating UC-Colorado Springs 72-56 on December 19
th prior to winter break.
Throughout the contest the Yellow Jackets were led in scoring by senior
Racquel Wientjes who scored 29 points. There were two other double-digit scorers leading the Jackets
Megan Engesser (10 points) and
Danica Kocer (12 points). With
Ashley Davis and
Ashlee Beacom leading the team on defense with Davis recording 6 steals and Beacom recording 4.
Regis University (1-1)
The Rangers are coming off a close game the resulted in a loss to the Colorado School of Mines Orediggers 48-50. After winning its first conference game versus South Dakota Mines 71-67 the night before.
The Yellow Jackets are 6-8 all-time against the Rangers. The last time the two teams met the Yellow Jackets were victorious in the contest outscoring the Rangers 71-59.
Colorado School of Mines (3-1)
The Orediggers are coming off a win against Fort Lewis in which they outscored the Skyhawks 75-63 which brought their conference record to 3-1. The single loss the Orediggers have is to Western Colorado who also handed the Yellow Jackets their sole loss this season.
BHSU and the Orediggers have matched up 14 times with both teams holding 7 wins. The last time the Orediggers and the Yellow Jackets matched up was in the RMAC Tournament last season which saw the Orediggers win 66-44 and advance in the tournament.
At this time no fans are being permitted into home games due to COVID-19.
