COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Black Hills State women's basketball was picked to finish seventh in the RMAC in the 2021-22 Preseason Poll, released by the league Wednesday afternoon.
Last season the Yellow Jackets went 14-9 overall and 12-8 in the RMAC. BHSU went to the RMAC tournament making it to the Championship game against No. 1 ranked Colorado School of Mines. After a positive COVID test for Colorado School of Mines the Yellow Jackets became the RMAC Champions earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
BHSU fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to the Westminster Griffins to close out the season.
Heading into the 2021-22 season the Yellow Jackets return nine student-athletes with eight newcomers joining the squad.
Colorado School of Mines was picked to finish first with 190 points and 11 first-place votes. Colorado Mesa was picked to finish second with 164 points and two first-place votes while MSU Denver was picked third with 151 points. Western Colorado and Colorado State University Pueblo each received a first-place vote and are ranked fourth and sixth respectively.
