Black Hills State women's basketball is headed to Wayne State College and University of Sioux Falls for more preseason action this weekend as they tip-off with Wayne State Friday at 4:30 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. tip-off on Saturday at the University of Sioux Falls.

BHSU is coming off a weekend split against Minot State to open the season. Friday BHSU was bested by the Beavers 55-52. However, Saturday the Yellow Jackets would claim a 56-55 victory over the Beavers behind 13 points from
Danica Kocer and a .458 team shooting percentage from the field.Â

The Wildcats are coming off a season opening win against Newman on November 13th. Wayne State had four players core double digits in its match-up against Newman in route to a 72-65 victory.
The Yellow Jackets hold an edge over WSC with a .408 shooting percentage from the field as the Wildcats have a .387 shooting percentage from the field. As a team the Yellow Jackets hold the edge from beyond the arc as well boasting a .339 shooting percentage compared to Wayne State's .167.
Wayne State College and BHSU have only faced off one time in the program's histories with that match-up being held November 23, 2019. In their first face off the Wildcats came away with a victory defeating the Yellow Jackets 84-74.
Last season the Wildcats went 6-10 overall and 5-9 in NSIC conference play ending the season on a three-game losing streak.

The Cougars are coming off a win against Presentation College on Tuesday November 16. Strong defensive play led the Cougars to an 86-36 victory over Presentation College to open play on their home court. The Cougars had two double digit shooters in the match-up.
The Yellow Jackets and Cougars are fairly matched up with both teams shooting over .400 from the field with USF holding a slight edge. USF and BHSU are evenly matched up beyond the arc boasting shooting percentages higher than .300 from beyond the arc. However, BHSU holds the slight edge beyond the arc with a .339 shoot percentage compared to USF's .346.
The Yellow Jackets and Cougars have also faced off just one time prior in program history with USF coming away with a 75-70 victory over BHSU on November 22nd, 2013.
Last season the Cougars went 8-6 overall and 8-5 in NSIC conference play finishing out their season on a loss to Minnesota Duluth in the NSIC Tournament.
