Track and Field Set to Host Stinger Open

The Black Hills State University Track and Field teams are ready to host the Stinger Open this Friday and Saturday February 19th and 20th.
 
The Stinger Open is the team's final competition before the Indoor RMAC Track and Field Championships which will be held in Spearfish February 26th-28th. Both track teams are coming off a successful week of competition that saw Xiomara Robinson break a school record in the 3K run, Matthew Parker provisionally qualify in the 5K, and Kyla Sawvell improve her provisional qualification mark in the weight throw.
 
Competition at the Stinger Open begins Friday, February 19th at 4:30 P.M. with the men's weight throw and long jump which will be followed by the women's weight throw and long jump. The distance medley relay will begin with the women at 5:30 P.M. followed by the men with the women's 5k and men's 5k to follow on the track.
 
Saturday's competition begins at 11:00 A.M. with the women's shot put and high jump followed by the men's and the men's pole vault which will be followed by the women's pole vault. Triple jump will begin at noon with the women who will be followed by the men. Running events will begin at 1:00 P.M. with a rolling schedule beginning with the women's 4x800 relay.
 
Spectators are not allowed at the Stinger Open due to COVID concerns, however; the meet will be lived streamed through stretch internet. Live results will be available as events wrap up through the live results link above.
