WBB Hosts Weekday Slate, Welcomes Eagles and Hardrockers

Black Hills State women's basketball has a pair of weekday games this week as they are set to host Chadron State Tuesday and South Dakota Mines Thursday.
 
The Yellow Jackets (7-7, 5-3 RMAC) are coming off a two week break due to COVID protocols postponing BHSU's last two contests.
 
The last time the Yellow Jackets competed was January 1 when they took on # 13 Colorado School of Mines falling 67-55 in Golden, Colorado.
 
BHSU currently leads the RMAC in 3-point percentage averaging 34.4% from beyond the arc while Megan Engesser leads the RMAC in 3-pointers made per game averaging 2.4/game.

BHSU (7-7, 5-3 RMAC) vs Chadron State (5-9, 4-5 RMAC)
The Eagles are on a three-game losing streak dating back to December 31st. In that time Chadron State has also had two contests postponed due to COVID protocols. The Eagles most recently played Western Colorado losing 83-80 in overtime play. The Eagles are currently 0-9 on the road this season as they again hit the road to face the Yellow Jackets in the Donald E. Young Center Tuesday night.
 
The Yellow Jackets and Eagles have faced off 23 times in program history. The Yellow Jackets have won 21 of those contests with the Eagles holding 2 wins. Most recently the Yellow Jackets and Eagles faced off Feb. 16, 2021. In that contest the Yellow Jackets won defeating the Eagles 59-39. The Yellow Jackets are on an eight-game winning streak against Chadron State with the teams last loss taking place on 2/24/2017.
 
This season the Yellow Jackets hold an edge over the Eagles in shooting percentage in all three categories. The Yellow Jackets are shooting 36.2% from the field compared to the Eagles' 34.8%, 34.4% from downtown compared to the Eagles 32.8%, and 70.4% from the charity stripe compared to 67.6% from the Eagles.

BHSU (7-7, 5-3 RMAC) vs South Dakota Mines (1-15, 1-9 RMAC)
The Hardrockers are also on a three-game losing streak; however, the Hardrocker program is one of the only programs in the RMAC with no COVID postponements. South Dakota Mines is coming off a tough loss to #13 Colorado School of Mines on Saturday night. The Hardrockers fell 91-62 in that match-up.
 
The Yellow Jackets and Hardrockers have faced off 37 times in program history. The Yellow Jackets have won 24 of those contests while the Hardrockers have won 13. Most recently the Yellow Jackets and Hardrockers faced off Feb. 18, 2021. In that contest the Yellow Jackets fell 61-60. The Yellow Jackets are on a two-game losing streak against South Dakota Mines with their last win taking place on 2/28/2020
 
This season the Yellow Jackets hold an edge over the Hardrockers in shooting percentage in overall shooting percentage and from beyond the arc; however, the Hardrockers are outshooting BHSU from the charity stripe 72.3% compared to BHSU's 70.4. The Yellow Jackets are shooting 36.2% from the field compared to SDM's 35.2% and 34.4% from downtown compared to the Rockers' 31.6%.
