Women's Basketball Looks to Stay Hot in Colorado

Black Hills State women's basketball faces off against Colorado Christian University and Metro State this weekend in Colorado.
 
BHSU will first take on Colorado Christian University with a 5:00 p.m. tip-off Friday, January 28 before taking on the Roadrunners at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29.
 
The Yellow Jackets (10-7, 8-3 RMAC) are currently on a three-game winning streak after defeating the Chadron State Eagles, 57-45, Tuesday, January 18, the South Dakota Mines Hardrockers, 69-55, Thursday, January 20, and the Colorado Mesa Mavericks, 68-62, Monday, January 24.

The Cougars are on a five-game losing streak after most recently dropping games against New Mexico Highlands 76-55 Friday, January 21 and UCCS 68-65 Saturday, January 22.
 
This will be the first time the Yellow Jackets and Cougars have faced off this season with the teams last facing each other February 26, 2021. In that contest the Yellow Jackets were defeated by the cougars in a close low scoring contest losing 55-51.
 
The Yellow Jackets and Cougars have faced off 16 times in program history and each team holds eight wins. Last season the two teams split the series with each team taking the victory on their home courts. Currently the Yellow Jackets are ranked fifth in the RMAC while the Cougars are ranked 12th.

BHSU (10-7, 8-3 RMAC) vs MSUD (12-4, 8-3 RMAC)
The Roadrunners are on a seven-game winning streak having not lost a game since December 14. Most recently the Roadrunners completed a weekend sweep of UCCS (54-47) and New Mexico Highlands (75-56).
 
The Yellow Jackets and Roadrunners have not played yet this season. The last time the two teams played one another was the final game of the regular season last year. The Roadrunners defeated the Yellow Jackets on their home court 69-58 to close out the 2020-21 regular season.
 
The Yellow Jackets have faced the Roadrunners 20 times in program history with MSUD holding an edge over BHSU having won 14 of those matchups. Last season the two teams split the series with each team winning on their own home court. Currently the Yellow Jackets and Roadrunners are tied for fifth in the RMAC with each team holding an 8-3 record in the RMAC heading into the weekend of play.
