Black Hills State football had four named 2022 CSC Academic All-District Tuesday afternoon.
The selections include
Ryder Blair,
Anthony Rosenstrauch,
Nolan Susel and
Aaron Thiele for their standout performance both on the field and in the classroom this season.
2022 CSC Academic All-District
Ryder Blair, Jr., LB
3.69 GPA – Mass Communications
Blair adds to his list of recognitions this season, having also been named RMAC Defensive Academic Player of the Year, RMAC First Team All-Academic, and Second Team All-RMAC.
On the field, he finished sixth in the RMAC in tackles (80), third in solo tackles (47), 11th in tackles for loss (9.5), and finished top-25 in the RMAC with four sacks, five pass breakups, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Blair also added a blocked kick and four quarterback hurries.
Anthony Rosenstrauch, So., LS
3.77 GPA – Biology
Rosenstrauch was previously named 2022 RMAC All-Academic First team. He appeared in all 11 games for the Yellow Jackets as long snapper, helping the special teams unit to a strong season with nine field goals, including a long of 52 yards, and 37-of-40 PATs. He has also made two tackles on special teams.
Nolan Susel, Gr., RB
3.67 GPA – Applied Management, Business Administration, Criminal Justice
Susel earns this honor after being named 2022 RMAC Second Team All-Conference and RMAC First Team All-Academic. He had a career-best season as a graduate student, finishing third in the RMAC with 67.5 rushing yards per game and 743 total rushing yards. He also finished second with 13 rushing touchdowns – a total that also ranked 15th in the nation.
His 14 total touchdowns this season ranked second in the RMAC and 20th in the nation, while Susel also averaged 4.5 yards per carry and had a long run of 77 yards. Susel added 141 yards receiving and a receiving touchdown, while also completing a passing TD.
Aaron Thiele, So., LB
3.81 GPA – Psychology
Thiele also continues to rack up awards this season, having also been named RMAC First Team All-Academic and Second Team All-RMAC.
He finished fourth in the RMAC in tackles (81), sixth in solo tackles (44), and was top-25 with six tackles for loss. He also accumulated .5 sacks, three breakups, an interception and two quarterback hurries.

The 2022 Academic All-District® Football and Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football and volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.Â
