COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Black Hills State football safety
Nicc Quinones has been named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Quinones scored on his second pick-six in as many weeks in Saturday's 38-7 win over Adams State, returning the interception 76 yards. It was his fourth interception this season.
In Saturday's game he added two tackles, including one for a loss, and tallied a pass breakup in addition to his interception.
He currently ranks tied for second in the RMAC with his four interceptions, and leads the league in return yards with 278 which averages out to 69.5 yards per return. His two pick-sixes ties for the league lead, and his 85-yard pick six last week is the longest in the RMAC this year.
Additionally, his interceptions per game average of 0.4 ranks 21st in the nation.
This is Quinones' first weekly RMAC award this season, and the sixth RMAC weekly honor for BHSU.

Aaron Thiele have also earned player of the week honors this season.
