WBB to Defend Six-Game Streak on the Road

DENVER, Colo. – Black Hills State women's basketball hits the busses this weekend for their second pair of RMAC matchups on the young season, setting course for Denver, Colorado for a matchup against the Metro State Roadrunners on Friday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets will then head west to Golden, Colorado for a matchup against the Colorado Mines Orediggers on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 5 p.m.

The lady Yellow Jackets (7-1, 2-0 RMAC) are off to a hot start in the 2022 season after going 5-1 in non-conference play and 2-0 last week on the opening weekend in RMAC play. After the dust settled last week, BHSU leads the 2022 RMAC standings, with Colorado Mines (6-1, 2-0 RMAC) and Adams State (6-2, 2-0 RMAC) in second and third, respectively.

In last week's contests, BHSU came out on top in both games, first defeating the Regis Rangers 71-64 in their first overtime game of the season before turning to UCCS the next night, sinking the Mountain Lions 58-42 after dropping 35 total points in the second and third quarters.

The Roadrunners (3-5, 1-1 RMAC) head back home to the Auraria Event Center following a split weekend on the road that saw them drop their conference opener to Westminster in a shocking 67-64 loss. MSUD was able to turn it around on Saturday, however, as they defeated Colorado Mesa in a thrilling 54-52 victory.

While the Roadrunners hold middle to low ranks amongst team stats in the RMAC, MSUD's sophomore guard Kendra Parra is the leading scorer in the conference heading into the weekend. Parra holds 152 points and averages 19 points per game while carrying an RMAC top-five .405 field goal clip on the season.
