WBB Hits the Road to Take on UCCS and NMHU

Black Hills State women's basketball is hitting the road to take on University of Colorado – Colorado Springs and New Mexico Highlands University this weekend.
 
The Yellow Jackets (13-8, 11-4 RMAC) will tip off with UCCS Friday, February 11 at 5:30 p.m. before tipping off with NMHU Saturday, February 12 at 5:00 p.m.
 
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a weekend split where they defeated the Adams State Grizzlies in overtime 67-65 Friday night before falling to Colorado State University Pueblo 70-56 Saturday night.
 
Currently the Yellow Jackets sit sixth in the RMAC with MSU Denver and Colorado Mesa holding a slight edge over BHSU after wins early in the week.

BHSU (13-8, 11-4 RMAC) vs UCCS (9-12, 7-8 RMAC)
The Mountain Lions are coming off a weekend sweep as they defeated Western Colorado 66-64 in overtime Friday night and Fort Lewis College 54-47 Saturday night. UCCS is fighting for a playoff berth in the RMAC Tournament as the team currently sits ranked eighth in the RMAC with the top eight teams going to playoffs.
 
The last time BHSU and UCCS faced off was earlier this season on December 19. In that contest the Yellow Jackets prevailed defeating the Mountain Lions 65-61 in the Donald E Young Center.
 
While the Mountain Lions are outshooting the Yellow Jackets from the field with a 40.5 field goal percentage compared to BHSU's 37.2%, the Yellow Jackets hold an edge in both 3-point percentage, 34.2% compared to 26.0%, and free throw percentage, 69.9% compared to 58.6%.

The Cowgirls are on a two-game losing streak after falling to Western Colorado 60-52 Saturday, February 5 and Colorado Mesa 82-53 on Tuesday.
 
The last time the Yellow Jackets and Cowgirls faced off was in the Donald E Young Center December 18. In that game the Yellow Jackets came out on top defeating the Cowgirls 74-46.
 
BHSU and NMHU have faced off 11 times in program history with the Yellow Jackets having won all 11 of those matchups.  Currently BHSU is outshooting the Cowgirls from the floor, beyond the arc, and from the charity stripe.
