FARGO, N.D. - Black Hills State track and field took a small group to compete in the Bison Open this weekend.
This weekend the Yellow Jackets took seven athletes to Fargo to compete in the Bison Open and hone their skills against strong competition in a DI atmosphere.
BHSU had nine top ten finishers this weekend with
Breanne Fuller leading the way placing second in the women's 200 while
Hannah Hendrick and
Whitney Scott placed second and third, respectively, in the pole vault.
Hendrick earned a second-place finish in the women's pole vault after vaulting 3.66m (12' 0") while Scott placed third with the same mark.
Breanne Fuller took second place in the women's 200m dash with a time of 26.30 and earned a pair of sixth place finishes while running the women's 60- and 300-meter dashes. Fuller earned a time of 7.94 in the 60 and 42.86 in the 300.
Reece Ullery competed in the long jump and triple jump. Ullery earned a fifth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.02m (42' 8.75") and a 14th place finish with a jump of 6.30m (20' 8").
Mason Sartain brought home a pair of tenth place finishes on the men's side in the 60 and 300. Sartain earned a time of 7.24 in the 60 and 38.40 in the 300. Sartain also competed in the men's 200 finishing with a time of 23.90 which put him 29th among competitors.
Conor McGraw competed in the heptathlon earning a total score of 4449 which earned him a tenth-place finish for the Yellow Jackets. This total earns McGraw a new spot on the BHSU top ten list moving him up to third place overall.
Kendra McDonald went to NDSU to compete in the women's pentathlon. McDonald earned a score of 2660 in the pentathlon most notably placing first in the high jump and fourth in the shot put. Her total earned her a 16th place finish.
