LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Black Hills State softball dropped its Sunday doubleheader at Colorado Christian, 14-1 and 11-1.

The Yellow Jackets (5-11, 5-11 RMAC) totaled eight hits on the day against CCU, who are 12-1 in the RMAC and currently sit in second place in the league.

Game One (L, 14-1)
CCU got out to an early 3-0 lead in the first before tacking on another run in the third to make it 4-0 before Amaral worked herself out of a bases loaded jam to hold the Cougars to just one run in the inning.

The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the fourth when singles from Johnson and Tuschen along with a Luebken walk loaded the bases before Hubbard drew a walk to make it 4-1.

In the bottom of the fourth, though, CCU put up a 10-spot, extending their lead to 14-1 using a bases-loaded double and grand slam, eventually taking game one by that score.

Game Two (L, 11-1)
In the second game, the Cougars jumped out in front 2-0 in the first, but a solo home run from Amaral to lead off the second inning cut the CCU lead to 2-1.

CCU added on in the third, plating 9 to make it an 11-1 game. Despite getting a pair of hits in the top of the fifth, the Yellow Jackets would fall.

The Yellow Jackets return home next week for a Wednesday doubleheader against Northern State on March 23 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., before a weekend series against Metro State.
