After a successful indoor season, the Black Hills State track and field teams are ready to head outdoors as they are set to host the Yellow Jacket Spring Open March 25 and 26 at Lyle Hare Stadium.
 
The Yellow Jacket Spring Open marks the outdoor season opener for the Yellow Jackets with competition set to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 25 with the decathlon and hammer throw.
 
Saturday morning competition kicks off with the decathlon at 9:00 a.m. and the heptathlon set for 9:15 a.m. Things will really start rolling at Lyle Hare Stadium when the field events get underway beginning at noon. Events on the track are slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
 
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a successful indoor season which saw one All-American crowned, seven athletes earn All-Conference accolades, four school records broken, and 18 top ten list moves.
 
BHSU will look to build off of that success as they turn their focus to the outdoor season.
