Seth Mischke are pleased to announce the signings of two more student-athletes for the 2022-23 season.
Reid Hansen
Reid Hansen is a triple jumper joining the Yellow Jackets from Wall, S.D. where he competed for Wall High School's track and field team.
"Reid's success in the triple jump last year was very impressive to see considering it was his first effort at the sport/event," said coach Mischke. "He is a multi sport athlete who enjoys competing and challenging himself to be better. He will be a great addition to our jump squad next year and we can't wait to get him started with us!"
Hansen began his high school career as a junior. Throughout his junior year Reid competed in multiple events including discus, triple jump, high jump, the 4x100, the 4x200, and the distance medley relay. Hansen earned season bests of 102' 8" in the discus, 43' 4.5" in the triple jump, and 5' 6" in the high jump throughout his junior year.
As a senior Hansen compete in the high jump, long jump, triple jump, and the 4x200 meter relay. Reid has recorded season bests of 5'4" in the high jump, 18' 7" in the long jump, and 41' 2.25" in the triple jump so far this season.
Reid's career bests include a 5' 6" high jump, a 43' 4.5" triple jump, an 18' 7" long jump, and a 102' 8" discus throw.
Throughout high school Hansen has been a member of both the golf and track state championship tournaments. Reid was a member of the All-Star Basketball game and was named captain of the basketball, football, and golf teams.
Throughout high school Hansen was a member of the National Honor Society and was named Academic All-State for Football. Reid is ranked sixth in his class with a 3.857 GPA. At BHSU Hansen plans to major in Business Marketing with hopes of becoming an entrepreneur after graduation.
Kendall Tietjen
Kendall Tietjen is a hurdler joining the Yellow Jackets from Clearmont, Wyoming where she was homeschooled and competed for Buffalo High School's track and field team.
"Kendall will have an immediate impact on our squad next year," said head coach
Seth Mischke. "She is very versatile, and her energy and excitement will be great to have around. We are excited to watch her senior year unfold, and even more excited to have her as a Yellow Jacket next year!"
As a freshman Kendall competed in the 4x800m relay and was a member of the 4x800m state champion relay team. Tietjen was a member of the All-State track team her freshman year and was also named cross country All-State.
Tietjen did not compete her sophomore year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her junior year Kendall broke the Buffalo High School school record in the 300m hurdles and competed at state in both the 300m hurdles and 100m hurdles. At State Tietjen earned third place in the 300 hurdles and fifth in the 100 hurdles.
Kendall is currently completing her senior season with Buffalo High School.
Tietjen's career bests so far include a 16.65 100m hurdle, 46.83 300m hurdle, and a 1:02 400m dash.
Kendall currently carries a 3.5 GPA and plans to major in Exercise Science at Black Hills State University.
