Black Hills State track and field is hitting the road for one final weekend of competition in preparation for the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The Yellow Jackets are sending three distance athletes to Azusa, California to compete at the APU Last Chance meet May 13 and 14 and a five other athletes to the UNK Twilight Open May 14.

Competing in California will be
Ruby Lindquist,
Erica Dykstra, and
Keith Osowski while
Gevin Paas,
Sully Mack,
Breanne Fuller,
Hannah Hendrick, and
Whitney Scott will be competing in Kearney, Neb.

Friday Dykstra will get the Yellow Jackets started as she is set to compete in the 800m run at 7:15 p.m.

Saturday Dykstra will run in the 1500m run at 9:00 p.m. before Osowski takes the track in the 1500m run at 9:30 p.m.

Finally, Lindquist will take the track at 10:20 p.m. to compete in the 3000m steeplechase wrapping up the California side of competition.

Meanwhile in Kearney Mack will get things started competing in both the javelin and hammer throw at 2:00 p.m. Paas will also begin competition at 2:00 p.m. as he will compete in the hammer throw. Paas will also be competing in the discus which will run at the conclusion of the women's discus.

Hendrick and Scott will both be competing in the pole vault beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Fuller is set to compete in both the 100m dash and 200m dash. The 100m dash is set to run at 5:00 p.m. while the 200 will run at 5:40 p.m.

This weekend will be the final weekend of competition for the Yellow Jackets as they look to fine tune for Nationals which is being held May 26-28 in Allendale, Michigan.
