Black Hills State track and field is hitting the road this weekend for two post-conference tune up meets.

Thursday May 5 the Yellow Jackets will be sending both
Hannah Hendrick and
Whitney Scott to compete in the pole vault at the DSU Last Chance meet at Dickinson State University. Competition is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Hendrick and Scott are both provisionally qualified to compete in pole vault at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the end of the month. Currently Hendrick is ranked 23rd in DII after clearing 3.95m (12' 11.5") at the Jack Christiansen Invitational in April. Scott currently holds the 44th spot in DIIÂ with a vault of 3.75m (12' 3.5") at the 2022 Loper Invitational.

Friday BHSU will have four athletes competing at the Air Force Academy's Twilight Open which is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
Breanne Fuller will be competing on the track as she is set to run the 100 and 200 meter dashes while
Sully Mack,
Gevin Paas, and
Kyla Sawvell will be competing in throwing events.

Breanne Fuller earned a provisionally qualifying time of 11.76 in the 100m dash at the RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships last week and is currently ranked 31st in DII.
Kyla Sawvell is provisionally qualified in three events including the hammer throw, shot put, and discus. Sawvell currently sits 6th in the hammer throw with a mark of 60.18m (197' 5"), 13th in the shot put with a mark of 14.44m (47' 4.5"), and 24th in the discus with a mark of 45.96m (150' 9").
