COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four members of the Black Hills State University Football team were named to the RMAC All-Academic First Team, while 19 other Yellow Jackets received conference recognition, it was announced on Wednesday morning.
Running back
Nolan Susel earned Academic First Team recognition alongside a trio of his offensive linemen,
Troy Mittelstedter,
Noah Nnabuo, and
Cameron Reiman.
In addition, 19 other Yellow Jackets were named to the All-Academic Honor Roll. Â
First Team All-Academic – Offense
Nolan Susel, Gr., RB
A CSC Academic All-America First Team from a season ago, Susel makes the RMAC First Team All-Academic for the third consecutive season with a 3.86 GPA across the Applied Management, Business Administration, and Criminal Justice programs at BHSU.
On the field, Susel was an All-RMAC Second Team selection after piling up 1,087 all-purpose yards for the Yellow Jackets, including 802 yards on the ground to lead the team, rank second in the RMAC, and 49th in the nation during the regular season. He also found paydirt 17 total time, the sixth-most in the nation in the regular season and the most in the conference, while his 13 scores on the ground was also a top-20 mark nationally in regular season play.
Troy Mittelstedter, Gr., OL
Mittelstedter earns First Team All-Academic honors for the first time in his career, although he was named to the Honor Roll in 2021. He stands with a 3.83 GPA in the Applied Management and Business Administration programs.
On the gridiron, he was the team's starting right guard and helped the BHSU offense finish the regular season ranked 48
th in the nation in scoring with 30.5 points per game.
Noah Nnabuo, Sr., OL
Nnabuo is a first time honoree on the All-Academic lists after posting a 4.0 GPA in the Biology and Integrative Genomics program.
Nnabuo appeared in two games this season on the Yellow Jackets' offensive line that helped the team finish the regular season 32
nd nationally in total offense, averaging 412.4 yards per game. The team's 252.8 yards per game passing ranked 23rd in Division-II Football, while they were also a top-60 team on the ground, averaging 159.5 yards per contest.
Cameron Reiman, Jr., OL
Reiman earns First Team All-Academic for the first time after being a member of the All-Academic Honor Roll each of the past two seasons. He has a 4.00 GPA in the Accounting, Applied Management, and Business Administration programs.
On the field, he appeared in four games for the Yellow Jackets as a part of the Yellow Jackets offensive line that did the dirty work for an offense that finished the regular season ranked in the top-50 nationally in total yards and scoring offense.
