Ryan Foy Named RMAC Indoor Track and Field Summit Award Winner

ALAMOSA, Colo. – Black Hills State track and field's Ryan Foy is the 2023 RMAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Summit Award winner, the conference announced Friday.

The junior out of Casper, Wyoming received the award thanks to a clean 4.0 GPA at BHSU as a mathematics and physical science major. Foy, who competes in the pole vault, cleared a season high 4.33m vault at the Stinger Open last week to place fifth. His vault ranks him 14th in the RMAC and 28th in the DII South Central Region.

The award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA), participating at the final's sites for each of the RMAC's championships. All GPAs are based on a straight grading scale to ensure consistency among institutions.

Any tie is broken by the number of credits completed. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above, who participated in their sport for at least two years with their school.

They must be an active member of the team, traveling and competing at the championship. Graduate students are not eligible. Foy will be recognized immediately following the conclusion of the final event on Saturday afternoon.
