CHADRON, Neb. – Black Hills State track and field and the rest of the RMAC completed competition at the 2023 RMAC Outdoor Championship on Sunday, with the Yellow Jackets securing two podium spots during the three days of competition.
MEDAL WINNERS
For the Yellow Jacket ladies,
Breanne Fuller received a silver medal in the 200m dash on Championship Sunday with a 24.68 dash time. Her preliminary and final time were just milliseconds away from the 24.34 NCAA provisional mark, with her Sunday timestamp just 0.34 seconds off.
The BHSU men had another podium placer in the men's discus throw.
Sully Mack threw a 48.70m disc to land in third place, with the senior only 1.18m off from the lead thrower in Chadron.
TOP FIVE FINISHES
Hanah Sullivan and
Kitrie Frank held top-five finishes in the women's throwing events during their championship runs. Sullivan competed in the women's discus throw and landed in fifth with a 42.57m mark while Frank speared a 38.33m javelin throw to land fifth in that event.
Sophie Curtis,
Mikayla Tracy,
Kendall Tietjen, and
Breanne Fuller represented BHSU in the women's 4x100m relay and landed in fifth with a team total of 49.41.

The Yellow Jacket track and field squads have three more meets in the month of May until the NCAA DII Outdoor National Championships on May 25, with their first stop coming next weekend at the Air Force Twilight Open on Friday, May 5 and the CSU Pueblo Last Chance Open on Saturday, May 6.
