COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced their 2023 Outdoor Track and Field All-Conference rosters on Tuesday morning, which included Black Hills State track and field's very own
Sully Mack and
Conor McGraw.
Sully Mack
Mack was selected for his outstanding performances in the discus and javelin events this season, as the senior out of Watertown, South Dakota was named to First Team All-RMAC in discus and Second Team All-RMAC for javelin.
At the RMAC Championships in April, Mack launched a season-high 48.70m discus throw to land on the podium in third, with his mark within a meter of his personal best of 49.46m.
His top javelin throws of the season came to Mack at the CSU Pueblo Last Chance Invite on Saturday, May 6 with the senior spearing a 55.73m javelin, which was also barely off his personal best mark of 56.33m.
Mack finished the season sixth in the conference in the javelin and eighth in the discus throw with his marks.
Conor McGraw
Competing in 2023 as a decathlon athlete for the Yellow Jackets,
Conor McGraw finished the season with a top decathlon score of 6,140 points, which came to him from the 2023 Outdoor RMAC Championships in April and earned him Second Team All-RMAC Honors.
In that competition, McGraw landed top-three marks in six of the decathlon events: he ran the 100m dash in 11.34 seconds (third), threw a 12.21m shot put (third), timed a 51.05 400m dash (third), was a runner-up in the 110m hurdles with a 15.89 mark, and launched personal bests in the discus throw (41.18m) and javelin (45.00m) to land second in both categories at the conference meet.
McGraw finished the outdoor season ranked sixth in the RMAC in the decathlon, 25
th in the javelin throw, 16
th in discus, 24
th in the high jump, and 16
th in the 110m hurdles.
