COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced their 2023 outdoor All-Academic selections on Monday afternoon, with six BHSU student-athletes receiving RMAC All-Academic status as honor roll selections including four Yellow Jacket men and two women.
RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll
Tim Brown, Sr., 3K Steeplechase
3.716 GPA – Mathematics
Brown has seen multiple instances of improvement in the men's 3K Steeplechase throughout the season and is now in the top 25 in the NCAA DII thanks to his performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Portland Distance Carnival. After recording a 9:09.07 in California, Brown shaved nearly four seconds off on May 16 at the PDC with a provisional qualifying time of 9:05.96. Amongst his success on the track, Brown is a mathematics major and maintained a 3.716 GPA.
Ryan Foy, Jr., Pole Vault
4.000 GPA – Mathematics / Physical Science
Once again manning pole vault for the Yellow Jackets, Foy held a season high mark in the pole vault during his performance at the CSU Pueblo Open on April 1
st, with the junior clearing a 4.40m vault to land fifth place in Pueblo. Foy was stellar in the classroom as well as he maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout the season as a mathematics and physical science double major.
Conor McGraw, Jr., Decathlon
3.740 GPA – History / Studio Art
Competing in 2023 as a decathlon athlete for the Yellow Jackets, McGraw finished the season with a top decathlon score of 6,140 points, which came to him from the 2023 Outdoor RMAC Championships in April and earned him Second Team All-Conference Honors. McGraw finished the outdoor season ranked sixth in the RMAC in the decathlon, 25
th in the javelin throw, 16
th in discus, 24
th in the high jump, and 16
th in the 110m hurdles. The junior is a history and studio art double major and carries a 3.740 GPA.
Reece Ullery, Sr., Long Jump
3.748 GPA – Exercise Science
Mainly competing in the long jump for the Yellow Jackets in 2023, Ullery found himself in the top three at the CSU Pueblo Open on March 31 with a 6.03m long jump. Ullery is an exercise science major with a 3.748 GPA.
Sylvia Brown, Jr., 10,000m
3.962 GPA – Exercise Science
Brown has been exceptional in the women's 1000m run this season, with the junior out of Sheridan, Wyoming sitting 36
th in the nation after her appearance at the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational on April 13. At the meet, Brown clocked 35:32.14, which landed her an NCAA DII provisional mark as well as the all-time BHSU record in the women's 10k. Brown is an exercise science major with a 3.962 GPA.
Sophie Curtis, Jr., 4x100 Relays
3.620 GPA – Graphic Design / Studio Art
This spring, Curtis aided the BHSU 4x100m relay into their fifth-place finish at the 2023 RMAC Outdoor Championships. In that run, BHSU landed fifth at the conference meet with a final time of 49.41. Curtis is a graphic design and studio art double major and carried a 3.620 GPA throughout the season.
