Weibel Snags New Outdoor Personal Best at Last Chance Invite

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. / PUEBLO, Colo. – Black Hills State track and field concluded their weekend slate of competition on Saturday afternoon as four Yellow Jackets competed at the Air Force Twilight Open and the CSU Pueblo Last Chance Invite on Friday and Saturday, respectively. 
 
The Yellow Jackets had Breanne Fuller and Erin Weibel at the Air Force Academy's Twilight Open on Friday afternoon, May 5, before joining teammates Sully Mack and Hanah Sullivan for the CSU Pueblo Last Chance Invite on Saturday morning, May 6.
 
Weibel, who competed in the pole vault at both meets, vaulted her way into fifth place with a 3.20m vault at the Twilight Open before posting an improved 3.37m mark in Pueblo, tallying a new outdoor personal best for the freshman. 
 
Fuller competed in the 100m and 200m dashes in both meets this weekend and posted a 12.06, 100m dash time to land in third while posting a top-five finish in the 200m dash as she clocked 25.23. Fuller remained consistent in her second appearance as she posted a 12.23 100m dash time and a 25.37 200m dash, placing third and second, respectively, at the Last Chance Invite.
 
Sully Mack competed in the men's discus and javelin throws in Pueblo and recorded second place with a 55.73m in the javelin throw. In the discus throw, Mack landed a 45.87m discus that placed him in fourth. Freshman thrower Hanah Sullivan competed in the women's discus throws on Saturday and launched a 37.20m discus to land in third. 
 
Notes
The Yellow Jackets' throwing coach, Matt Cahoon, had an opportunity to compete this weekend as well as an unattached competitor: The Samford University alum took first overall in the javelin (69.80m) and the discus (49.80m) throws in Pueblo on Saturday.
 
Up Next
The BHSU track and field regular season concludes next weekend as the Yellow Jackets head to Kearney, Nebraska for the Loper Invite on Saturday, May 13. Tim Brown (3K Steeplechase) and Sylvia Brown (5K), however, are slated to compete at the Portland Distance Carnival on Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13.
