SPEARFISH, S.D. – The Yellow Jacket track and field teams will participate in their first meet away from Spearfish when they head east to Brookings, South Dakota for the South Dakota State University (SDSU) Jim Emmerich Invite on Saturday on the 300-meter track inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

JACKETS TO NOTE
Entering last weekend's meet already sitting in the top-50 in Division II in the men's weight throw, Sully Mack (Gr., Watertown, S.D.) slid up a couple spots to 48^th after his toss of 17.53m at the Myrle Hanson Open, where he finished second in the event.
 
On the women's side, Hanah Sullivan (So., Sheridan, Wyo.) snuck into the top-50 in Division II in the shot put last weekend at the Myrle Hanson Open. After throwing a mark of 12.85m, she sits 48^th in Division II early in the indoor season, taking a second-place finish. Additionally, keep an eye on teammate Makayla Friederich (Jr., Scotland, S.D.) who took a third-place finish a week ago with a mark of 12.55m.
 
After three top-5 finishes in the men's pole vault last weekend, both Shane Karajanis (Jr., Sheridan, Wyo.) and Lane Longbrake (Fr., Belle Fourche, S.D.) have vaults over the four-meter mark heading to South Dakota State.
 
The men's 200-meter athletes are set to debut for the first time in the 2023-24 indoor season this weekend inside the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. The crew consists of Mason Sartain (Sr., Bonneyville, Alberta, Canada), Brendan Flock (Fr., Torrington, Wyo.), Nicholas Hale (Jr., Sheridan, Wyo.), Jace Johnson (Fr., Rapid City, S.D.), and Ashley Williams (Fr.).
 
2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships qualifier Tim Brown (Jr., Sheridan, Wyo.) will compete in two events, the mile run and the 3,000-meter for the Yellow Jackets.
 
USTFCCCA RANKINGS
The first edition United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor rankings is set to release on Tuesday, January 23.
