FARGO, N.D. – A pair of top-10 finishes at the Bison Open highlighted the weekend for the Black Hills State University track and field teams, hosted by North Dakota State University.
Shane McGraw took a fifth-place finish in his first 300-meter of the season, while
Lane Longbrake took sixth in the pole vault.
In his first 300-meter of the season, McGraw (Sr., Hannah, Wyo.) took a fifth-place finish with a time of 37.40. He finished second among NCAA Division II athletes, behind Northern State's Carter Moller (37.27).
Competing in her first pentathlon of the season,
Alivia Weathers (So., Yuma, Colo.) scored 2,572 points and now sits 13
th in the conference.
Longbrake (Fr., Belle Fourche, S.D.) took a sixth-place finish among athletes at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels in the men's pole vault. His mark of 4.46 meters was second-best among NCAA Division II athletes. On the women's side of the pole vault,
Brekkan Lockhart (Fr.) had a personal best height of 3.25 meters and
Erin Weibel (So., Casper, Wyo.) had a season-best mark of 2.95m. The mark for Lockhart moves her into the top-10 in the RMAC.
In the prelims of the 60m dash,
Mason Sartain (Sr., Bonneyville, Alberta, Canada) paced the squad with his time of 7.02 seconds, taking ninth.
Jace Johnson (Fr., Rapid City, S.D.) recorded a time of 7.11 seconds for 14
th in the prelims.
Up Next: The Yellow Jackets will return to Brookings, South Dakota next weekend for the SDSU Indoor Classic on February 9-10.
