PUEBLO, Colo. – The Black Hills State University track and field teams opened their Outdoor schedule this weekend at the CSU Pueblo Early Bird meet, hosted by CSU Pueblo. Both
Tim Brown and
Addison Red Fox both run personal bests to start the outdoor season as the Yellow Jacket distance runners have a solid start to the outdoor slate.
Brown (Jr., Sheridan, Wyo.) opened the outdoor season with his fasted season opener to date in the steeplechase with a time of 9:21.03. Early in the outdoor season, it currently leads the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). Furthermore, in the steeplechase,
Justyn France (Jr., Olathe, Kan.) and
Levi Smith (Jr., Cheyenne, Wyo.) now sit No. 6 and No. 7 in the conference after the first weekend.
In the 1500-meter, Red Fox (New Town, N.D.) ran a personal best time of 3:59.85 and it currently sits No. 10 in the RMAC. On the women's side in the event,
Katelyn Krieger (Fr., Spirit Lake, Iowa) made her 1500-meter debut, running a time of 4:52.25 which sits No. 9 in the league.
Flynn Johnston (Fr., Whanganui, Manawatu, New Zealand) made his outdoor debut for the Yellow Jackets in the 400-meter, opening the season with a lifetime best time of 51.49, which currently sits top-5 in the RMAC (No. 5).
Anthony Rosenstrauch (Sr., Monument, Colo.) also opened his outdoor season with an eighth-place finish in the discus with a personal best throw of 37.80 meters. The mark currently sits No. 6 in the conference.
