SPEARFISH, S.D. – A pair of Black Hills State University men's track and field student-athletes are set to compete at the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships down in Emporia, Kansas, hosted by Emporia State University inside Welch Stadium.
Brett Glaser will compete in the decathlon, while
Tim Brown will run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Brett Glaser – Decathlon (TFRRS LINK)
Glaser (Gr., Glasgow, Mont.) will begin his DII Championships on Thursday, May 23 kicking off Day 1 of events at 9:30 a.m. (MT). Thursday's events will include the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, and the 400-meter.
His events will continue first thing Friday morning, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (MT). The final day of the decathlon events will include the 110-meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500-meter run.
He enters the Championships at No. 14 in Division II with 7,023 points at the Franson Last Chance meet on. May 9 in California. Twice this season he set a school record for the decathlon and became the first Yellow Jacket in program history to notch 7,000+ points in the decathlon.
Tim Brown – 3,000-meter steeplechase (TFRRS LINK)
Brown (Jr., Sheridan, Wyo.) enters the DII Championships sitting No. 10 in Division II in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:51.92 achieved at the 2024 Franson Last Chance Meet earlier this month on May 9 in California.
He will compete in the preliminaries of the 3000-meter steeplechase at 5:40 p.m. (MT) on Thursday, May 2023. Should he make the cut for the finals, that race will be held on Friday, May 24 at 6:15 p.m. (MT).
A total of 377 student-athletes, per gender, qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships down in Kansas this weekend.
