FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 6 Black Hills State University women's triathlon team posted a fifth place finish amongst NCAA Division II competition and was 12
th overall at the west regional on Sunday morning, collecting 144 points at the Marine Creek Lake Park. For the fourth time this season it was 
Payton Sheehan who led the team lineup for the Yellow Jackets, while 
Sydney Campbell moved up into the second position on the team for a pair of top-30 finishes in DII.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- For the fourth time this season, Payton Sheehan paced the Yellow Jackets as she recorded a 60th place finish, and was 25th in NCAA Division II, with an overall time of 1:15:53.56. She clocked the fastest times on the team in the 750-meter swim (10:55.41), transition one (1:24.20), and the 20-kilometer bike (37:54.31) to begin the morning before closing out the race with times of 37.55 seconds in transition two and 25:02.07 in the 5-kilometer run.
- Sydney Campbell worked her way up to second in the team lineup at the end of the day in Fort Worth, clocking a time of 1:16:27.05 for 62nd overall and 27th in NCAA Division II. She began the day with times of 12:20.36 in the swim and 1:29.03 in transition one, before picking up the pace and notching the second-fastest times by a Yellow Jacket in the bike (38:50.40) and transition two (28.05). Her transition two time was the fifth-fastest of the day among DII competition. She concluded the day with the fastest 5-kilometer run for BHSU, crossing the finish line in 23:19.19.
- Scarlett Walsh recorded a 69th place finish, 31st in NCAA Division II, with an overall time of 1:19:18.71. She was the second Yellow Jacket to exit the water, posting a swim time of 11:04.45, and added times of 1:32.86 in transition one, 39:37.67 in the bike, 41.38 seconds in transition two, and 26:22.33 to close out the day in the run.
- Lilly Brophy rounded out the Black Hills State lineup with an overall time of 1:20:46.55 for 76th place and 34th in NCAA Division II. She began the morning with a time of 12:28.63 in the swim and quickly moved through transition one with the second-fastest time by a BHSU athlete at 1:27.64. She then recorded a time of 39:22.91 on the bike and again cruised through the second transition, clocking the fastest time by a DII athlete at just 25.78 seconds. She closed out the race with a time of 27:01.56 on the run.
- Chantel Bickler started the day with times of 14:16.67 in the swim and 1:31.18 in the first transition, however, she was unable to complete the race.
