CAGUAS, P.R.- The Black Hills State Yellow Jackets transitioned from a 58-point win yesterday afternoon into a 51-point win this morning as they defeated the UPR Mayaguez Juanas 77-26 in a game that put BHSU above .500 for the first time since the first game of the season. The Yellow Jackets outscored the Juanas 43-13 in the second half. It was the 11
th straight game BHSU won the rebounding and offensive rebounding battle.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Yellow Jackets fell behind early 2-1 for the first time in P.R. before turning on a 11-0 run with four different players scoring a bucket. Each team scored four more points to go into the quarter break 16-7. Audrey Norville had five points in the first quarter.
- Paola Sierra hit a layup to cut the lead to seven and then BHSU went on a 12-0 run with Brinlee McRae having seven points including a three pointer. Bradie Schlabs also hit a deep shot. UPRM had a 4-0 run to cut the lead to 15 before the Green and Gold ended the half with six straight points to go into the break 34-13.
- Halftime leaders for the Yellow Jackets included McRae, who had nine points in the first half, Norville had six points and nine rebounds, while Schlabs had five points, three rebounds, and four assists. Sofia Hernandez and Paola Hernandez Santiago each had four points and three plus rebounds.
- The Yellow Jackets started the second half on a 10-0 run with six of those points coming from Taylin Serlen. That run turned into a 15-2 run when Norville hit a jumper and Emily Cooper hit a three to take a 49-15. The two teams split the next 14 points as the Juanas kept the Yellow Jackets lead at 33 before BHSU scored the next six points to with Brinlee McRae scoring six in a row to make it 61-22. UPRM made two free throws to end the third quarter and send BHSU into the final frame up 61-24.
- The fourth period was all BHSU with the Green and Gold scoring the first 16 points of the half and holding UPR Mayaguez to zero points the first nine minutes of the quarter. Maddie Geiver had six points, Sydney Deem and Tess Rule each hit a three and Taylor Ray got another bucket in Puerto Rico as she hit a jumper. Anelys Rivera hit a jumper to finally score in the fourth quarter and end the game with BHSU winning 77-26.
